Haha! I found this when I was searching to figure out if what I THOUGHT were worm turds in my bin really ARE… Yep!! They really remind me of mouse turds, just wet.

My husband (a fisherman) looked over my shoulder and said, sometimes they do that when you put a hook through them. ^_^;;;;

You’ve got me there, Sherry. I DO wear gloves. haha

Not because it’s disgusting, but because it gets pretty annoying constantly having to dig out vermicompost etc from under my nails. I also have a 1 year old and thus like to keep my hands at least reasonably clean.

I don’t wear gloves when I’m rooting around in the bins, but it’s a tad gross just because it’s such a close-up. I’m no prude….I’ve got 3 cats and 2 regularly think pooping in the litterbox at the same time I’m cleaning it is a necessary action.

Thanks again for sharing Bentley! I don’t know what I’d do if I couldn’t get my regular fix by seeing what you’re up to these days. LOVE your site.

C’mon everyone! We’re vermicomposters here. This stuff isn’t supposed to gross us out.
Funny how kids find this stuff (and worms in general) fascinating, yet we’ve been programmed over time to think of ‘poop’ (and the process involved in producing it) as “gross” etc. Don’t get me wrong – I too have a knee-jerk ‘ewww’ reaction to this stuff myself. It’s only when I analyze in my head afterward that I realize how silly it all is.

Anyway, there’s my little benevolent rant for the day!

Hahaha! It’s a lot like, I KNOW my hubby brushes his teeth, but I don’t want to see him do it! It’s nature, but some things are better off in private.
Poor thing, how did he feel, having a camera stuck in his face when he’s relieving himself.
