I’ve had some in my bin a couple months. Hoping to see if it ever comes out the bottom. Next i have to find some actual chicle gum. Even if i have to order it off the net. They go back to Chicle i have little doubt we can compost it. May be what they need to see to go back to something that isn’t landfill material. Maybe we should be sticking our gum in the recycle bin? Lol!
I’m fixing to see what Isopods do with it. They get bored, they’ve been known to eat styrofoam. Lol!

okay, now that the picture is off my screen….good question, Melody. chewinggumfacts.com says it’s mostly synthetic rubber with softening agents. Now I’m REALLY curious to see if worms pay any attention to it at all!

What kind of gum? Do you know what kind of plastic they use in the gum base?

Kind of looks like a brain.
Interesting. I can’t imagine the worms doing to much with it. Seems like once they get the basic sugar off there won’t be anything left but the rubber. Looking forward to finding out what does happen

Haha – yeah, probably could have made that one a little less of a close-up. Pouring the water over it didn’t help either.
It IS pretty funny to think about the things that DO and DON’T make use queasy!

feeling a little queasy here….yes, rotten veggies don’t make me queasy, used slimy gum mounds do. deal with it. 🙂
