Hi Bentley, I have ever only found the one flatworm in my inside beds and I accidentally put it there in a big pile of leaves I fed to the worms in my two sided bin. On the outside front I haven't gone hunting for them for some time now.I put bark chips all through the orchard and most of my vegetable garden is now under an enormous plastic house and I have seen three flatworms in there when it was first made but none since then.I no longer keep a manure pile near the house as it was the major attracter of flatworms as they had a ready source of food on tap with all the worms in the pile. When I was hunting for them I killed literally hundreds of the horrible things.I will need to check for a few nights but I think I have made a huge difference.I would like to e-mail the man you mentioned ( Larry Martin ) if I could have his e-mail address or web site if you think he would not mind me contacting him.Thank you.

Hi Alison,
I think Peter simply means that it was once thought that flatworms could ruin the entire industry. I'm not sure that he is implying that they are no longer something to be concerned about. Vermiculture expert Larry Martin (vermitechnology unlimited) would be a great person to talk to about this. He lives in Florida and has had flatworms decimate his worm populations before - not sure what he is doing now in order to prevent this.

How has your battle with flatworms been going?

Hi Bentley, Mr Bogdanov knows about flatworms !!! He said they were once feared so that means they are no longer feared !! How come? Did they get rid of them? If so how ? I am extremely interested in this. Can you find out more? Thanks.
