Meismeems – Interesting question! I have a sneaking suspicion that the black tubs I use would end up sticking out from the bottom shelf, but as far as width goes I’m pretty sure one would fit just fine down there. Will try to remember to measure one of them to find out for sure.

I’m excited about starting up again after giving up using the Rubbermaid method, which produced mucky-muck and was gross.

I have one question….the bottom shelf for ‘harvesting’ the compost…is it big enough for one of those black bins that you use, Bentley? You know, the ones that are curved on two sides?? I’m hoping so, since I have a couple of them I’d like to make use of for this project.
