If you recently purchased the system, I wouldn&#039;t worry about harvesting vermicompost for at least another month or two. You will want the level of fairly well processed material to be up past the halfway mark and the main feeding zone to be even further up than that. I would normally let my Inn go for a few months before even checking on the vermicompost situation. When I DO check, I just loosen the drawstrings carefully, let the false bottom cardboard fall out and then start scraping material down with a hand fork. Shouldn&#039;t see many worms at all.]]></description>

I&#039;m not sure how often to check to see if there is worm compose available.  So far I just open the bottom and pull out compose until I see worms.  Is this the best way?

Sure beats hanging flytape :)  I had big problems with them in my last bin and don&#039;t look forward to going through that again.
