This is kept in our basement bathroom. I did end up with some odor issues due to the amount of waste I added (type of materials etc), but this was very quickly remedied by adding some “living material” (in this case, coarse vermicompost). It’s all about balance – with enough bedding and (hopefully) living materials mixed in with the food, it’s not going to matter if your worm population is too low. Assuming you at least make SOME attempt to optimize the wastes a bit (chop up, freeze/thaw etc).

My comment/questions:
Do you cover this in addition to the shown coverings? Where do you keep this? If you keep adding food and the worms don’t process quickly- since there aren’t a lot of them- won’t it start to smell? How will you harvest?
